Biography

Verena Grundhammer is an Austrian artist, born and raised in a village in Tyrol. She studied teaching and relocated to London, where she worked as such. In her free time she signed up on video courses and participated in short and feature length film projects (Hopscotch, Tuesday....)
Verena resumed her academic studies, this time in Modern Languages and Humanities. In addition she organized art events and continued working in her Brixton based studio. She uses ink on paper, acrylic on canvas and poetic setting to express a mental state, a philosophical position, a psychoanalytic approach, poetry.
Her work has been shown in numerous group projects and in solo exhibitions in London, Bolivia (Cochabamba, Oruro and La Paz, Santander and Barcelona. 

Verena es una artista austriaca . Estudió pedagogía y filología. 
Trabaja sobre todo con acrílico sobre lino y tinta china sobre papel. Uno de sus intereses es el cuerpo humano y cómo una postura física puede expresar un estado mental. En 2001 se desplazó a Londres donde trabajó como profesora, pintora y directora de arte. 
Actualmente Verena reside en Barcelona. Sus trabajos han sido mostrados en varios exhibiciones en Londres, Bolivia y Barcelona.
